The description on the new Adamantium Jewels read:

"Reduces damage from all dragon-type pets by x%"

This absorption takes place before other native absorptions.

For example, if a character with 30% Dragon Absorption and 30% Native Absorption receives 100 damage from a pet, the adamantium jewels will reduce the damage to 70 out of 100. Then 49 out of 70.
